Lunch anyone?

I may need to slow down a little…
Yep…… I went to put some lunch in the microwave today and found my lunch from yesterday… could’ve been why I was so hungry at dinnertime last night, you think?  (sigh)
So, I’m taking a break and thought I’d write a little.  It’s been a while, I know.. I constantly struggle with getting things done that I want to do while juggling things I need/have to do.  I’m sure I’m the only one with that problem………… uh huh..
Anyway, on the health front: I am doing tons better, there are still some unknowns but I have resumed my ‘normal pace’ and we’re trusting in the Great Physician for answers as we need them.  Thank you for your continued prayers!  (I will be posting a detailed list soon since some of you have asked how you can pray for us specifically so stay tuned for that.)
In the meantime, I’m anxiously waiting and very much looking forward to taking a trip.  We are firming up details daily.  While it won’t be a vacation for two to an all-inclusive resort or another Caribbean cruise to mark a special anniversary, I am probably more excited about this trip than any other trip I’ve ever been on!  Why?  Because it will be my 1st trip to Haiti with my love – this guy named John.  We leave in 11 days!!!!!  Yippee!!!!!  And yes, I said my FIRST trip.
Tons of you believe us to be a little more crazy than before since in fact I’ve never even visited the far away, distant, hot and less-than-lavish land that will soon be our new home.  I know this to be true, especially when people say, “Oh, you’ve NEVER been?!?”  (ahem, insert sweet smiles here!) Others of you know personally that when God calls you to do something your knowledge of the details doesn’t really matter but the peace you feel when you say, “YES”, does!  You know that the WHAT always precedes the HOW… meaning the first focus is WHAT needs to be done and then HOW it’s going to be done.  Learning that if we want to experience God’s blessings in a new way we need to move past our comfort zones is never an easy lesson.  However, we are reminded of how Simon Peter & Andrew had to leave the security of their familiar lives to FULFILL their destiny in Mark 1.  Andy Stanley said, “Somewhere in those random ideas that flood your mind, is one that will capture your heart and imagination.  And that seemingly random idea may very well evolve into a vision for your life.”  While John & I have had lots of random ideas over the last 15 years, this one has never felt more real than now!
“Today we are [all] one step of obedience away from the next truth God wants us to learn about Him and we cannot afford to stay where we are.”
Thanks for stopping by today... I’m going to get my lunch out of the microwave now! J
